Superficial balance II

(previously)

Douglas Adams, in 1999:

I don’t accept the currently fashionable assertion that any view is automatically as worthy of respect as any equal and opposite view.

Today at Respectful Insolence: Mistaking failure to support for "censorship": The Danish government funding a Holocaust denier. (from History on Trial)

That is, the Danish government is actually awarding money to this Haaest, not just tolerating his opinion. This appears to be the actual article in the Danish Information, and here's the statement from the Simon Wiesenthal Center website.

Respectful Insolence goes on to say something I've been trying to phrase myself:

They know they can appear far more legitimate than they are, and they are not constrained by evidence, science or the truth, which allows them to put the side that is constrained by these things on the defensive. Moreover, as the "rebel," the crank almost always controls the agenda, and, particularly in the U.S., people root for the seeming underdog anyway.

A true underdog story™ of how one man's dream of corrupting the truth got him gobs of cash! Heartwarming, that's what it is.

Tangentially: Lipstadt has her post tagged "Holocaust Denial; Politically correct idiocy". Politically correct, of course, is another one of these concepts that are easily bent into obscene shapes.

Not many people seem interested in knowing the truth. Neither about the so called holocaust, or even the truth about the Eric Haaest case.

But Mrs. Lipstadt will be pleased to hear that red fascist thugs yesterday September 24 2007 tried to block a lecture by Erik Haaest in Svendborg Denmark. They did not succeed however and 23 red fascist thugs were arrested by the police.

Mrs. Lipstadt sure has fine supporters all around the world, as we remember from many previous occasions: Red fascists.

Red fascists who are no more supportive of Israel then I am, but who try to white wash their violent actions by trying to curb free speech of those who don't completely agree with the Jewish version of history that can only be upheld by persecution of intellectual dissidents and massive disinformation campaigns from Jewish lobbies world wide..

I am happy to be able to say that not all Jews are an obstacle to freedom of speech, what can be learned from watching a video containing a discussion between three Danish Jews, that can be watched at this page together with some of the real background for the Erik Haaest Story. (Danish program with English subtitles.)

Denmark is one of the last countries in Europe where one is free to deny whatever one wants to deny, although one may expect assaults from violent communist thugs.

How long will world Jewry accept this state of affairs?

I am sure they are working hard at solving the problem.
